Factory Suspension Works was started for one reason. To provide customers with the most versatile off road suspension possible. Many companies say, “We will set up your bike for your riding area”. Thats nice, but what if you want to ride a different area? The bike might work great in rocks, but it’s too soft for desert whoops, or an occasional motocross track. And conversely it might work just fine for whoops and a track, but when you take it off road, it jars your teeth. Over the years this philosophy has been accepted by many people and they just go with the fact that the bike will only work great in one type of terrain.
After a lot of testing, we have discovered that one bike can indeed be set up to handle a variety of terrain by suspending it correctly, and using the clicker adjustments for the different areas people like to ride. With the combination of proper spring rates, valving, and high flow pistons, you can increase the sensitivity of the clicker adjustments to fine tune your bike for many different terrains. We also believe that once the customer receives their newly modified suspension, it is our job to help educate and encourage riders to go out and test for themselves the parameters of their suspension. By testing, you learn for yourself how the bike will handle the many different adjustments available in setting up the motorcycle for your riding style. Once you learn what the bike does, it’s then simple to know what adjustments are necessary for the terrain you ride.
In addition to chassis and suspension adjustments, tires with air, Tubliss, or bib mousses are just as important as suspension. Have a great suspension, and put on the wrong tire, your suspension will feel terrible, no matter how good the valving is.
Our goal is to help our customers receive the best possible riding package available, and we do this with our suspension set ups along with passing on information regarding what we learn about the many different products out there that make the bikes better.
